Uses of This Medicine
Aminocaproic acid injection is an antifibrinolytic agent. It is used to treat serious bleeding conditions, especially when the bleeding occurs after dental surgery or other kinds of surgery. This medicine is also sometimes given before an operation to prevent serious bleeding for patients with medical problems that increase the chance of bleeding.
This medicine is available only with your doctor’s prescription.

How To Use
Injectable
Your doctor will prescribe your dose and schedule. This medicine is given through a needle placed in a vein.
A nurse or other health provider will give you this medicine.

Some medicines can affect how aminocaproic acid works. Tell your doctor if you are using a medicine to treat hemophilia, such as Factor IX, or activated prothrombin complex concentrate.

This medicine is not right for everyone. Do not use it if you had an allergic reaction to aminocaproic acid.
Warnings
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have hemophilia, anemia, other problems with your blood, or a history of heart, liver, or kidney disease.
This medicine may make you dizzy. Do not drive or do anything that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you.
Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
