Hexaminolevulinate is an imaging agent that is used in a procedure for the bladder called cystoscopy. Imaging agents help create an image or picture of body parts, such as the bladder. Hexaminolevulinate is used to check for cancer cells in the bladder.
This medicine is to be used only by or under the direct supervision of a doctor.

How To Use
Liquid
A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. This medicine is given through a catheter (tube) that is placed in your bladder.
The tube will be taken out and the medicine must be held in the bladder for at least 1 hour. You may stand, sit, or move during this time. If you feel you cannot hold the medicine in your bladder for 1 hour, tell your doctor or nurse right away.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
When Not To Use
This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to hexaminolevulinate or similar medicines, or if you had BCG immunotherapy or intravesical chemotherapy in the past 90 days.
Warnings
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have porphyria or have had blood in your urine.
