Uses of This Medicine
Ergoloid mesylates belongs to the group of medicines known as ergot alkaloids. It is used to treat some mood, behavior, or other problems that may be due to changes in the brain from Alzheimer’s disease or multiple small strokes.
This medicine is different from other ergot alkaloids such as ergotamine and methysergide. It is not useful for treating migraine headache. The exact way ergoloid mesylates acts on the body is not known.
This medicine is available only with your doctor’s prescription.

How To Use
Tablet, Liquid Filled Capsule, Liquid
Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to take and how often. It may take 3 to 4 weeks for this medicine to start to work.
Take this medicine at meal times or with food or milk to avoid upset stomach.
Place the sublingual tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve. Do not chew or swallow the tablet. Do not eat or drink when the tablet is under your tongue.
Measure the oral liquid with the dropper that comes with the medicine. Drop the medicine into your mouth or mix with food or fluids (such as applesauce, fruit juice, milk, or water).
If a dose is missed:
Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
If it is almost time for your next regular dose, wait until then to take your medicine and skip the missed dose.
You should not use two doses at the same time.
How to Store and Dispose of This Medicine:
Keep this medicine in the original tightly closed, light-resistant container away from moisture and direct light. Do not freeze the oral liquid.
Keep all medicine out of the reach of children.

When Not To Use
You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any ergot alkaloids such as Cafergot®, Ergostat®, or Bellergal® . You should not use this medicine if you have a history of mental problems.
