March 22, 2019 — Poultry giant Tyson Foods this week recalled nearly 70,000 pounds of frozen chicken strips because they might have pieces of metal in them.
The ready-to-eat strips were produced on Nov. 30, 2018, and include:
25-ounce plastic bags of frozen “Tyson Fully Cooked Buffalo Style Chicken Strips Chicken Breast Strip Fritters With Rib Meat and Buffalo Style Sauce”; with a best-used date of Nov. 30, 2019; case codes 3348CNQ0317 and 3348CNQ0318; and individual bag time stamps from 17:00 through 18:59 hours.
25-ounce plastic bags of frozen “Tyson Fully Cooked Crispy Chicken Strips Chicken Breast Strip Fritters With Rib Meat”; with “Best if Used by Nov 30 2019”; case codes 3348CNQ0419, 3348CNQ0420, 3348CNQ0421, and 3348CNQ0422; and individual bag time stamps from 19:00 through 22:59 hours.
20-lb.pound cases of frozen “Spare Time Fully Cooked, Buffalo Style Chicken Strips Chicken Breast Strip Fritters With Rib Meat and Buffalo Style Sauce”; with “Best if Used by Nov 30 2019”; and case code 3348CNQ03.
While there have been no confirmed reports of injury or illness from the chicken strips, the U.S. Department of Agriculture did receive two complaints from consumers who found metal pieces in them. If you have any of these products in your freezer, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you bought them.

This is the second major recall of a Tyson product this year. In January, the company recalled 5-pound plastic packages of chicken nuggets because they might have been contaminated with pieces of rubber.
