March 14, 2019 — Monogram Meat Snacks recalled about 191,928 pounds of Duke’s Meat Corp. and Conagra brand ready-to-eat pork sausage snacks on Wednesday. The shelf-stable products, manufactured between Jan. 16 and March 7, 2019, were tampered with and possibly contaminated, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says.
The products, more than 95 tons of them, were sold in stores around the U.S. and have the establishment number “EST. 795” inside the USDA inspection mark.
A USDA spokesperson says the situation is under investigation and no further details are available at this time. Officials with Monogram did not return requests for comments. It remains unknown how the snacks were tampered with, but the USDA says it happened after the production process.
