Uses of This Medicine
Fenoldopam injection is used for in-hospital, short-term (up to 48 hours) management of severe hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults. It is used when blood pressure is needed to be lowered quickly (including malignant hypertension with deteriorating end-organ function). This medicine is also used in children for in-hospital, short-term (up to 4 hours) reduction of blood pressure.
This medicine is to be given only by or under the supervision of your doctor.

How To Use
Injectable
Your doctor will prescribe your dose and schedule. This medicine is given through a needle placed in a vein.
A nurse or other health provider will give you this medicine.

Some foods and medicines can affect how fenoldopam works. Tell your doctor if you are using a beta-blocker.
When Not To Use
This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to fenoldopam.
Warnings
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have heart disease, asthma, or increased pressure in the eye, including glaucoma. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to sulfites.
This medicine may cause low potassium levels in the blood.
Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.

Fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat
Rapid weight gain, swelling of your hands, ankles, or feet
